A calzone and pizza

Tonight was grilled pizza night.  I decided I'd try making a pizza calzone as well just for fun.  I used all of the same ingredients as our regular pizza needs.  I took some step-by-step photos so you could see how I made the calzone.

Start with your basic pizza dough

Spread your pizza sauce and toppings down the middle

Sprinkle as much cheese as you want

Next cut strips about 1 1/2 inches wide on each side

Now cross each strip over the other side until all are crossed

I love to use my pizza stone on the grill that I got from Williams & Sonoma

Bake until nice and brown

The cheese just oozed out of the slices!

If you don't want to get all fancy but still want that grilled pizza, do this instead.

Now I got done with work at 5pm tonight.  I got home, started my grill, prepared both of these and we were done eating dinner by 6pm.  How quick and simple is that?

One more day of work and then time for the weekend fun!  What do you have planned?  Brady has his football pizza party and gets to go deer hunting for the first time with his Grandpa Dave.  We'll have to think of something fun to do with Cody so he doesn't have hurt feelings.  He wants to hunt so badly.  Too young yet to sit still for that long in the woods.

Speaking of Cody...he can't get over my new braces.  He keeps asking to see AND touch them.  Makes me laugh every time.

Nite!
